Good morning and Happy Hump Day! Hope you are having a great week!
Monday was a busy day at work followed by a lengthy gym visit. Started with a relaxing 10 minutes in the hydromassage bed, then 35 minutes on the treadmill, then 15 minutes in the hot tub, before a 60 minute deep water pool class. Whew! Trust me when I say I slept well that night.
Yesterday was a crazy busy day at work followed by a relaxing visit to the salon for a hair color and cut (bye-bye grays). Followed that up by a much-needed trip to the grocery store.
Today will be another busy day at work followed by a Core Barre class then date night with hubby. I am so glad to be back at the gym after taking last week off to study. I am looking forward to the Core Barre class. I have only taken it once at the gym and am looking forward to trying out a different instructor.
When Should You Workout?
Let’s say you have your workout schedule all planned and you wake up thinking, I don’t want to do this. Should you work out or should you skip it?
Well, is this your BODY saying it doesn’t want to workout because you are sore and have pushed yourself? Or is this your MIND saying this and thinking that the couch looks pretty good?
That’s what you have to figure out – body or mind.
If you are so sore you can hardly get out of bed, it hurts to walk, etc. – stop for a moment and think. While they say you never regret a workout, you might regret it if you wind up hurting yourself to where you CAN’T workout for a length of time. Consider some light walking, a restorative yoga class, or taking a rest day.
If your mind doesn’t want to go, JUST GO. Tell yourself you only have to do 5 or 10 minutes. Once you get started, you will probably be glad you did and will finish your workout strong. You might even reward yourself after completing the workout by watching your favorite TV show or purchasing an inexpensive Kindle book (tons of books for $1.99 and under). This will be the workout you don’t regret because you will feel GREAT after completing it.
