Weekend in Review – Yoga, a 5K, & Ducks

Good morning and Happy Monday! Hope you had a fantastic weekend. Let’s catch up.

Friday was a work from home day then dinner with hubby and friends. In case you missed Friday’s post, I talked about the Get Your Pretty On Spring Challenge. While the challenge is now officially over, many of us are staying in the Facebook group and repeating either the 2015 challenge or the 2014 challenge that Allison was so fabulous to share with all of us as a bonus.

Saturday morning I got up and went to one of my happy places – OJ’s 8:55am yoga class at National Fitness Center Signature Club. The entire class was done on the ground (no standing) and in the dark. It was amazing. This is truly not a “typical” yoga class, but I actually find I feel the most stretched and relaxed after these. I will get to go this coming Saturday as well.

I also enjoyed the beautiful weather Saturday. The next 7 or so days are supposed to be perfect Spring weather and finally warming up a touch. I spent some time on the front porch Saturday reading. Yesterday hubby and I spent time on the back patio before dinner, then on the front patio before going to bed.

Saturday night hubby and I had date night to the sushi place. We have missed a few Wednesdays so sushi time it was. This was my “date night outfit.” Instead of white pants, I substituted my new black and white maxi skirt. I also wore the necklace I had bought earlier that day at a rummage sale. I know I am really late to the maxi skirt trend, but boy are they comfortable.

Sunday morning hubby and I got up and met a friend in Oak Ridge for the Suck It Up Buttercup 5K. No lie, we all wanted the shirt. It was a beautiful morning for a walk along the lake. I finished in 49 minutes flats.

Here are a few photos from the morning.

Possibly the LEAST motivational sign ever, but fits in with the “suck it up buttercup” theme.

These two little ducklings were quite popular and they LOVED people. They stayed at the registration gazebo and didn’t seem scared at all. They tried to follow hubby when he finished taking photos of them.

That was my weekend. How was your weekend? Any activities or races? Anything exciting coming up this week?
