Wall Squat Challenge by Move It Monday

Today’s wall squat challenge is the tenth challenge in the Move It Monday fitness challenges. Don’t forget we will be going through August with a new challenge every other Monday. Past Move It Monday Challenges:

The Wall Squat Challenge

This week’s challenge is the wall squat challenge! How long can you hold one? Challenge a co-worker or friend to see who can hold one the longest!

The Wall Squat Challenge

Wall squats are a great exercise to strength your legs – especially your quads. For all you runner’s out there – this is a great exercise to prevent “runner’s knee.” They can be done with or without a stability wall and/or weights. You can truly do them just about anywhere.

On a personal note, I was dealing with a family emergency last week and only managed to get in one workout. My new coach and myself decided I would just start fresh today. My goal is three workouts (Monday, Wednesday, Friday) and to follow my training and rest nutrition plan. I am still dealing with insomnia and wish I had gotten more than 4 hours of sleep to start the week, but it is what it is. Off to the gym! Have a great day!

  1. This is such a great reminder that I need to incorporate wall squats into my workout routine again. I used to do them all the time. So effective!

  2. Hoping your week goes better and that you get proper rest.

  3. I actually do wall squats EVERY SINGLE DAY when I am brushing my teeth! My toothbrush has a 2 minute timer so it works perfectly!

  4. Wall squats always sound like they’d pretty easy. They. Are. Not. Easy. My legs are so sore from the workouts I did at Blogfest I don’t think I’d last very long at all!

  5. I love wall sits! I make my clients do them often, especially those who have a hard time with squats, but want a little bit of a quad burn πŸ˜‰

  6. Wall squats have always been my nemesis. I have very strong legs but there is something about that 90 degree wall position that makes my muscles shake and fatigue quick!

  7. Love this! We use to have to do these in school. I’m making note of this for the next time the girls want to watch tv all day or maybe even when I’m having one of my movie days (which neither happen that often).

  8. Awesome challenge Glenneth. A few years ago wall sits were my challenge to see how long I could hold it. Wonder how long I can hold it now?

  9. I love wall sits! Don’t they remind you of high school sports too? So good!
