The Squat Challenge by Move It Monday

Hello and Happy Monday! Today is the seventh challenge in the Move It Monday fitness challenges. Don’t forget we will be going through August with a new challenge every other Monday.

Why do squats? Squats work the entire lower body, specifically the quadriceps, hamstrings, glutes, and the muscles that make up the calves. {source}

It is really important to do squats with proper form. So important to not let your knees go past your toes and to keep your feet flat on the floor.

Squats are one of my favorite exercises. You can do them almost anywhere wearing anything. I also like to do plie squats to work different muscles.

  1. That sounds like a fun challenge!!! I’ve really been working on my squats, and sometimes my friend and I will try to do a certain amount every hour!

  2. I find squats help keep me injury free so I love this challenge. I also love your graphics.

  3. I love squats! All kinds of them. Except not for a few more days after my half marathon yesterday πŸ™‚

  4. Really should get back into squatting! As a college athlete, they make you over-do squatting so much that I swore I’d never squat again ;).

  5. I love squats! Definitely one of my favorites as well. At the gym I try to lift heavy to help with triathlon performance, but I perform air squats at my desk all through out the day to try and get more movement in my day!
