Something I have been trying for a couple of weeks is Shakeology from Team Beachbody. I have been replacing most of my breakfasts with a Shakeology smoothie and thought I would share one of my recipes with you.
Peanut Butter & Jelly Smoothie
- 1 scoop chocolate Shakeology
- 2 TBSP PB2 (because I LOVE peanut butter flavor)
- 1 TBSP real creamy peanut butter
- 1/2 cup frozen strawberries
- 8 oz almond milk, soy milk, or chocolate milk
I put everything but the ice in the blender first and get it good and mixed. Then I add ice and blend some more. The results:
My favorite thing about Shakeology is the dozens (or probably hundreds) of ways you can mix it. From any kind of milk or non dairy product to even using just water. Depends on what you have and why you are making it. Many people just mix water, ice, and a scoop of the powder (and don’t even use a blender).
One of the things that impressed me about Shakeology was how thick and voluminous the shakes come out. My entire shaker cup is full. As a result, it sometimes takes me up to an hour to drink it. I have pretty much done away with a morning snack.
They say Shakeology makes you crave sweets less. I will say maybe to that one. I usually have a few Dove Promises in the evening and I can’t remember the last time I had one.
I tried about 6-10 different protein powders or meal replacements (or whatever you want to call them) before I settled on Shakeology. It was what worked (and tasted best) for me.
