HELLO! Its Thursday. Again. One day closer to the weekend!
Being February 2nd, I thought I would revisit my goals/todos/resolutions for 2012 and update them. I will be doing this each month and hopefully by the end of the year I will have completed everything.
First off, yesterday was a rest day. WOOHOO!!! I really needed it. We had a crazy busy day at work. Also, the weather made me tired. I swear, I am fine with the cold, but when it rains, I just want to hibernate in bed with a good book. Thinking I might have a minor cold. Woke up at 3AM with the sniffles and had trouble sleeping the rest of the evening.
Luckily, I have something to look forward to tonight – Barre3 with my friend G. Read my review of my first Barre3 class here. I am very excited about adding this classes to my workout schedule.
Goals, ToDos, Resolutions. Whatever you want to call them. Here are mine for 2012. Some household, some personal, some professional. Some very specific, some general.
1 – Reduce spending by using up items we have before buying others.
*** I think I am doing pretty good at this. I hardly shopped during January.
2 – Donate old/unwanted clothes/household items to KARM or Goodwill.
*** I have not started this yet.
3 – Complete a race longer than a 5K.
*** This one is tricky. I did the Wanderer’s Trail Race in January. Hubby’s GPS showed 3.95 miles, mine only showed 3.65 miles. It appears I might have gotten lost during the race – completely possible by the way. While that technically is longer than a 5K (3.1 miles), I would like to do a 4 or 5 mile race this year.
4 – Save 10-15% of each paycheck. Now that I am back working full-time in a fairly stable job, time to start the savings again.
*** I have received 2 paychecks already this year and the first thing I did was put 13% back into an emergency/savings fund.
5 – Try CrossFit and Spinning (at least once each).
*** I have not tried either of the above yet, but I have tried Barre3. I know that our CrossFit offers free classes on Saturdays and I will just have to find somewhere to do a spinning class. My gym doesn’t offer any classes.
6 – Become Google AdWords certified. Professional goal to help with my job.
*** I have permission to start studying on company time. Finding the time is going to be difficult since we have gotten busier. I expect this should happen the first half of this year.
7 – Learn to cook one meal per season. As you know, I am not a cook. I would like to learn to cook one complete meal (edible and healthy) each season.
*** Yeah, I haven’t started this yet. Big surprise. I do make a mean salad and a delicious smoothie though. I can also cook eggs – scrambled, over easy, in a basket.
8 – Walk/Bike/Elliptical at least 500 miles. Last year I completed 450+, so I am adding 10% to that number.
*** January 2011 I did 8 miles. January 2012 I did 23 miles. Definitely more than 10% increase, so I think I am on the right track.
9 – Utilize craft room (make handmade cards, gifts, etc).
*** Ummm….this hasn’t happened yet. But the craft room does look pretty and clean.
10 – Blog at least 5 times per week.
*** I was in a blogging challenge during January, so I posted every day (and a couple of days posted twice). I may not hit every day in February, but I will definitely blog at least 5 times per week.
11 – At least 1 – 5 day vacation and 2 weekend getaways.
*** Hoping to get one of these scheduled soon.
12 – Continue all goals to become healthy and get to feel great weight. These include logging what I eat on a regular basis, following my online personal trainer’s plans, and more.
