Black Friday is just a little over a week away which means it is time for holiday shopping! Whether for yourself, a family member, or a friend; I am sharing some of my favorite items for walkers and runners!
In full disclosure, I received a free HipZIPP a few months ago as part of my relationship with Healthy Living Blogs. As I have said many times on the blog, I am high maintenance when it comes to walking. I feel like I need to carry a lot: ID, money, keys, lip balm, hand sanitizer, phone, and headphones. That along with having HUGE phones (Galaxy Note 4 and now an iPhone 6+) makes it hard to find something that works for me.
I have tried pretty much everything on the market. I don’t like the ones where everything is stored in the front together. That just looks funny and it does bounce around. The ones without zippers make me afraid that I will lose something and not notice. The HipZipp solves both of those issues. There are two zippered pockets (one in front and one in back) and it is meant to sit on your hips. I store my ID, money, keys, lip balm, and hand sanitizer in the rear pocket. I reserve the front pocket for my phone and headphones. Works perfectly! They come in multiple colors and sizes (and yes, I have the pink one below).
The HipZIPP is perfect for runners, walkers, hikers, bikers, and pretty much anyone who wants to carry some items with them and still be hands free. Traveling soon? Perfect to keep your valuables close!
I am always on a quest for the PERFECT water bottle. I believe I have found it – the HydroFlask. It keeps cold cold and hot hot and it doesn’t sweat. Not one bit. The HydroFlask comes in all different colors and sizes. There are even accessories for it like a carrying jug.
The 32 ounce is a bit big for me to carry when walking, so I am thinking about getting a smaller size (or actually putting it on my wish list). You can order these from the HydroFlask website or from Amazon. Since we don’t have an ice machine at work, I fill it with ice before I leave the house and still have ice in it at the end of the day.
Brooks Running Shoes
Shoes! Everyone can use a great pair of shoes. I myself am partial to Brooks Glycerins, but everyone has their favorite. If you know the gift recipient’s favorite shoes – why not buy them a pair? Too expensive? Get them a gift card to their favorite running shoe store or site. Trust me – they will appreciate it – these things are expensive. And if you haven’t bought a new pair of shoes in a while, treat yourself. Go to a running store and get fitted first!
Headphones – I have two pairs of favorites – one from Bose (wired) and the other from Verizon (wireless)
iTunes or Google Play cards (depending on what phone they have) – I am sure they would love to add some new music to their playlist
Socks – Not very exciting I know, but good workout socks aren’t cheap.
Winter gear – Hats, gloves, headbands, hand/feet warmers
A workout partner or cheerleader – volunteer to workout with them sometime or go to their next race to cheer them on
Money – race entry fees can add up quickly
