Get The Sweat Out Of Your Workout Clothes

Sweat! It is good for your body, but bad for your clothes.

With just the two of us in the house, I only do laundry once a week. That means sweaty clothes and regular work clothes meet in the laundry basket. There are also clothes from my gym bag and locker. That’s why I use Febreze In-Wash Odor Eliminator in my wash. Helps me get the sweaty smell out of our workout clothes AND from the other clothes they have been mixed in with. It is also great for pet smells, mildew, or smoke. I just add a certain amount (based on size of load and smelliness) to my regular detergent and go! Now I don’t have to set my washer on the “heavy duty” long load and just hope it spins all of the odors out.

7 Fun Facts About Sweat

7 Fun Facts About Sweat

  • Everyone has between 2 and 5 million sweat glands across our body! That’s a LOT!
  • The more fit you become, the faster you start to sweat.
  • Women have more sweat glands than men, but men PRODUCE more sweat than women. (I would have guessed this one!)
  • It is possible to sweat too much. Overactive sweat glands can be caused by certain medications or medical conditions. This can actually lead to dehydration.
  • Some sweat is salty. Does your sweat sting your eyes? Then you might be a salty sweater.
  • During intense exercise in the heat, athletes can sweat off 2 to 6 percent of their body weight. This is why it is so important to keep hydrating and fuel properly.
  • There is a difference between stress sweat and regular sweat.

  1. Seems like I do some sort of laundry every day! I am a sweater! And my husband is not. Role reversal there! 😉 I definitely wash my sweaty workout clothes separately from everything else.
