Five Must Read Blog Posts

2014 Better Healthy Living Challenge by Angie – As I mentioned yesterday, Angie and I are teaming up for the 2014 Better Healthy Living Challenge. This was her post kicking off the announcement. Go check it out and then plan on joining us starting July 1. We are making this simple to do – you won’t need to jump through hoops. And YOU set what you work on/toward.

How to Use Micro-Goals to Blast Away Fat by Suzanne – Maybe you need to lose 40 pounds. That is a BIG goal. So best to break in down in smaller micro goals as Suzanne puts it. I love that. She even provides guidance to get you started. I also love that she says micro goals should be easy. What would you pick for a micro goal today?

Cut Yourself Some Slack by Tanee – Love this post as the basis is what you can, when you can (#wycwyc). There comes a time in everyone’s life when organized activity just isn’t possible. That may be a day, a week, or longer. Tanee shares some way to add movement in throughout your day. I would add – SQUATS. Do squats while drying your hair or on the phone.

The Boxed Lunch, Or You Can’t Have It All by Kath – If you are trying to lose weight, you really can’t have it all. You can have some. And you can have everything, just not at the same time. Let’s take the box lunch she describes. Maybe you have 1/2 the sandwich and chips for lunch. Save the rest for dinner. Portion sizes these days are huge. Maybe you can have it all, just not in one sitting.

Have Your Cake And Your Vegetables Too by Julie – I love this post – eat what makes you feel good. And I would add – eat what tastes good to you. Don’t like a certain vegetable – don’t eat it. There are some great book suggestions at the bottom of this post.
