Good morning and TGIF! I am really looking forward to my shopping trip with my Mom tomorrow. But first – today. I am going to finish this post then head to the gym for a quick workout. Then back home to work. Then shower and dinner with hubby and friends. Then tomorrow – shop til we drop! Time to buy a few cute clothes for summer.
Let’s get started with Friday’s Fabulous Five . . .
Five Must Read Blog Posts
5 min HIIT Express Workout: Morning Metabolism Boost by Sarah – As you might remember, I recently reviewed Sarah’s Get Skinny Again book. Sarah is best known for her YouTube videos and after watching this one, I know why. She offers a 5 minute HIIT workout and does it with you in real-time. Trust me – you will be feeling the burn when it is over.
Why Diets Don’t Work by Samantha – I love this post. Diets don’t work – it is a vicious cycle. Let’s say you go on one of those programs that provides food for you. Yes, you will probably lose weight. But are you adding exercise to your life? Are you learning what works and what doesn’t work for you? What will happen when you stop that program? And I love her statement – dieting doesn’t mean you are healthy or even working on being healthy. Create a new lifestyle. Make small changes. Find what works for YOU.
How to speed up recovery and get fit faster by Angela – Angela offers 5 great tips for letting your body recover from workouts in order to get fit faster. I love her suggestions for post-workout foods. Did you know that overtraining your body without allowing it the proper time and fuel to recover can cause injury?
Yoga 101 by Lindsay – I love yoga and sadly don’t do it as often as I would like. Lindsay’s friend Christine gives us a Yoga 101 lesson. She offers five tips for getting started along with some fundamental yoga postures. Cat-cow is great for warming up and tree pose can help with your balance.
Classic (skinny) Root Beer Floats by Ericka – I just had to share this post because these sound and look amazing. I love root beer floats and mine would need to have some extra cherries on it.
