TGIF! Happy Friday! Definitely feels different when you start the week on Tuesday instead of Monday. For me it means time to work from home again today.
I am sure by now you have heard of Maya Angelou’s passing. I thought I would share some of her quotes scattered through the post today.
Five Must Read Blog Posts
Tanee’s Mock Potato Salad – low carb by Tanee – My first attempt using cauliflower as faux potatoes was a complete disaster. I am thinking this recipe from Tanee might work better for me since you aren’t trying to get smooth potatoes. This looks and sounds delicious, although maybe not the healthiest side dish.
20 Minute Boot Camp Workout by Julie – This workout should leave you sweating. 20 exercises at 1 minute each. This could easily be done pretty much anywhere – home, gym, outside. Not ready for back to back exercises? Try 30 seconds on, 30 seconds off and repeat twice.
The #1 overlooked component to weight loss by Pam – Great, great article about how sleep might be affecting your weight loss. I do pretty good on some of these, but truthfully have problems falling asleep without the TV on. And I do read before bed, but on my iPad, not a paper book. We do keep our bedroom as dark as possible and we don’t keep cell phones in the bedroom.
so you need a rest day by Lindsay – How often do you take a rest day? Obviously I take them when the doctor recommends them, but normally Fridays are my true rest day. While you should certainly take one full rest day a week, sometimes you might need more. Remember – better to listen to your body and take an extra rest day than injure yourself and possibly be down for days or weeks.
How To Start Again? by Beth – Starting over on your weight loss journey or regained some of what you had lost? Beth offers three great tips to start again. Accept where you are and forgive yourself. Set goals based on NOW. Realize this is a lifelong journey. This is truly a must read article so head over there and check it out.
