This was a big weekend here in Knoxville – the annual Covenant Health Knoxville Marathon. Hubby and some friends ran the half again this year and my favorite munchkin ran the kid’s run. Here are some of my favorite photos from the weekend!
Saturday – Kid’s Race
Saturday was packet pickup and the Expo, along with the Kids Run. Typically we get to browse the Expo, but they are working on our interstate and traffic was a nightmare. We had just enough time to grab hubby’s packet and make it to the stadium before the kid’s run started. The kids finish on the 50 yard line of Neyland Stadium (just like the other races) and can see themselves up on the jumbotron. They even receive a medal! It was a beautiful evening for the run (they started at 5:30pm).
Sunday – Half Marathon and Marathon
Sunday morning the full and half marathon started at 7:30. It was a clear crisp morning. I love watching all the runners start and actually followed them a bit up the street to get a few photos.
Check out the Jumbotron and the finish line! Right on the 50 yard line of Neyland Stadium. That’s one of the reasons this event is so huge.
Thought it was only appropriate to wear my UT sweatshirt in Neyland stadium!
My peeps finishing!
Our friend J did his first ever half marathon!!!!
UT is such a beautiful campus!
Check out the finisher medals!!!
You might be asking, what event I participated in. Well, if spectating is a sport, that was me! They moved the 5K from starting a bit after the half and full until 7PM on Saturday night. I am not a fan of that move so I declined to participate. But I am a fabulous cheerleader and stll got a ton of walking in both Saturday and Sunday!Check out some photos from the Covenant Health Knoxville Marathon weekend! #chkm2016 #865run Click To Tweet
