Today was the Secret City Home Run 5K in Oak Ridge. Did well, not great. Here are my stats:
My GPS tracked a bit longer than a standard 5K (which is 3.1 miles). The course wasn’t very hilly, but the road was actually slanted – which is worse in my opinion.
My calves, skins, and ankles have been bothering me quite a bit lately. Couldn’t figure it out – until today. Decided after the race I needed new shoes. And the truth was – I really did. The shoes I had been wearing had almost no tread left. DUH! Didn’t even think about that since I walk and don’t run.
Want to see my new shoes? They are Brooks and feel wonderful. I actually got these and then ordered the other color so I can alternate.
Excited to try out my new shoes here in the next couple of days. Next up though is biking. I have the helmet and my hubby is picking up friend’s bike that she is loaning me. Pray I don’t wind up in the hospital.
What are you doing this weekend?
