More Monday Motivation!!!

Good morning and Happy Monday! Here we go again! This week I am relaxed and stress-free. Why? Did you see my big announcement? That’s why. I feel like a weight has been lifted from my shoulders.

Going to be a fun and busy week. Family dinner, date night, 31 party, dinner with friends, and weekend out of town. Whew. Must keep on top of everything this week AND keep up my workouts. Guess what race is this weekend? The Color Run! We signed up for this race back in May and it is finally here!

fall pumpkins

Pumpkins have arrived! There is a church near us that sets up a pumpkin patch every year and the proceeds go to charity. I have been waiting and waiting on them to open this year and they finally opened this week. I might have gone a little crazy. I bought 10 pumpkins and spent $40. I love having pumpkins on the front porch during fall, so it is worth every penny.

Powbab Baobab Superfruit Chews

Last week I was contacted by a company called Powbab and asked if I wanted to try their Baobab SuperFruit Chews for Immunity Strength. I agreed, but honestly expected not to like these at all. Mainly I was worried about their taste. I had never heard of the baobab fruit. Have you?

What is baobab?

Baobab is a tree that grows throughout Africa (and Australia). It grows in dry, hot savannahs. Local peoples have used many parts of the baobab for centuries – the fruit pulp or acid pith is used to make a refreshing and nutritious drink. The leaves can be eaten like spinach, or dried and added to sauces, used as a medicinal compound, etc. The bark has been used for fiber for nets, rope, clothing, medicinal compounds etc. The fruit pulp is high in vitamin C, calcium, iron and other minerals, and contains dietary fiber (soluble and unsoluble). The leaves are also high in vitamin C, and contain protein.


I ate one of the chews yesterday and it tasted fabulous. Reminded me of tangy taffy. Powbab says their baobab superfruit chews are made for traveling, working, and busy playing. They boost immunity, slow oxidative damage and reduce inflammation. Delicious pomegranate acai berry flavor. With a tangy twist. Individually wrapped. No preservatives. Vegan. Fair trade. Let’s Get Motivated

I gave myself permission to pretty much eat/drink anything I wanted last week due to the tests. Should I have done that? Probably not. Do I regret the decision? Not really. It is in the past and I can’t change it. I am not beating myself up for this. I am getting back on track. Yesterday was a great day and a great workout. Today will be more of the same. You can’t change the past – only your future. This week I am going to concentrate on keeping the junk out of my diet and drinking lots of water.

Love these next two. I think they go together. You need to sweat – every day. And if you could push yourself for 5 extra minutes each workout, imagine what you could achieve.

This is so important. I cringe when I hear people say they have stopped eating or eat very little in order to lose weight. That will so backfire on them. Eat the right foods and move and your weight will take care of itself. One thing I am going to be watching this week is portions. Check out this tweet from the fabulous Dr. Lori Shemek:

And finally, my weight didn’t come on over night – it took years. It won’t come off over night. People don’t go to the gym once and become healthy and in shape. It takes time and effort. Be good to yourself!
