Guess what??? It’s Friday! TGIF! This week was just a 4 day work week for me and next week is only 3 days. Yeah for time off! This has been one of my best sleeping weeks ever. Every morning the alarm has had to wake me up. Normally I wake up multiple times and I am already up when the alarm should go off.
Yesterday’s workout consisted of 10 minutes on the treadmill and 20 minutes in the elliptical. I did intervals on both. After that, I did my planks and bridges. On the second bridge, I felt a thigh muscle pop, so I stopped and called it a day. I also spent some time in the massage chair, tanning booth, and red light therapy room. I really love Planet Fitness. The staff at our location is super friendly and helpful.
Instead of my normal 5-4-3-2-1 weekend countdown, I am going to catch up on the blog challenge questions from Peanut Butter and Jenny. I am really behind! Here we go!
Question 18: Post a picture of the most embarrassing article of clothing you own.
Funny story, I actually JUST donated them a few weeks ago to free up some closet space. They were these really loud, floral capri pants that looked painted on when worn. Just try to imagine it…
Question 19: Write about something or someone who you really care about.
Picking just one person or thing is always hard. I really care about my Mom. We have a great relationship, as you probably know since we just took a mother/daughter trip together. She has been the best kind of Mom. When I was growing up, she was my mom, the parent. She was not trying to be my best friend. I had rules, consequences, chores, etc. I think too many mothers now try to be their child’s best friend and forget to be a parent. Now that I am grown up, she is my best friend. We talk daily. We enjoy our time together. That’s what a mother/daughter relationship should be!
Question 20: Write about the best or worst date you’ve ever been on.
Worst date was with a guy I knew in college. We went to Red Lobster. He picked me up in his car, we got to the restaurant, things were going well. We were looking at the menu trying to decide what to order when he told me I would need to order something cheap so that he could have the lobster. That was the first and last date with him.
Best date was my first date with my hubby. It was Valentine’s Day. He sent flowers to my dorm room that arrived while I was getting ready. He took me to one of my favorite restaurants in town. We talked, laughed, and five years later got married. He also bought me a red jacket that I had looked at earlier that week. I still have that jacket!
Question 21: What are your thoughts on body image in the media?
I honestly try to not pay too much attention. I think the media does portray the average woman as being super tall and thin, when that is certainly not the case with over 68% of Americans overweight. Also, thin doesn’t necessarily mean healthy. Also, I just have to think it is easier for celebrities to get in shape and stay in shape. They have the funds and the time to hire personal trainers, chefs, nannies, etc. Your average woman (or man) has to do it all herself (himself).
Question 22: What are your 3 biggest pet peeves?
- Tardiness. Being consistently late is just rude.
- People who say they will do something and then don’t.
- Drivers who will wait for 5 minutes to get a closer spot to the door when there are empty ones next to their car.
Question 23: What is your favorite part of the day and why?
The morning. I am such a morning person. I love to see beautiful sunrises. I love the time to myself. I have plenty of energy. I enjoy each and every new day.
Question 24: Who was your childhood celebrity crush?
Scott Baio from Happy Days!
Question 25: What’s in your purse?
Multiple lip glosses and chap sticks, gum, mints, a purple pen, headphones, wallet (cash, id, credit cards, etc.), hair brush, powder, dental floss, nail clips, nail file, hand sanitizer, business cards, hand lotion, perfume, bandaids, and my iPhone.
This is one of the smaller purses that I carry. Bigger purses = more stuff in them.
Question 26: Post a picture of something yellow.
Some beautiful yellow flowers at my Mom’s house…
Question 27: What was your most memorable vacation?
Hmm… I am very blessed to say that this was a hard question to answer because we have been on so many fantastic vacations. I think I am going with our trip to Scotland in 2004. Hubby had to go present a paper at a conference and I tagged along because it was SCOTLAND! Scotland was absolutely beautiful. Tons of history. Here are a couple of photos from the trip.
One day I should go through all of my vacation photos from before the blog and share some of my photos with you.
Answer one (or more) of the questions in the comments!
Happy Friday! Make it awesome!
